On Wednesday 21st February 2024, Lydia, Emma, Rich and Andrew went to Windsor Castle to an Investiture held by Prince William.
He presented her with an MBE for Services to people with Autism and their families in Oxfordshire.
He asked Lydia about Pennyhooks work and was very interested in it, especially about encouraging employers to provide opportunities for people with autism.
It was a wonderful day. The castle staff went out of their way to make
everyone feel welcome. We were encouraged to look at the state rooms with their wonderful paintings and ceilings.
Afterwards we were invited by Prince William’s team to speak with a journalist, and more photos were taken.
We felt so very proud and came back to show the medal and share cake with the team at Pennyhooks.
What a very happy day!
